Seasonal opportunity: Ngā kaitiaki o Mautohe/Cathedral Cove

Ngāti Hei Hei o Wharekaho Settlement Trust is seeking expressions of interest for seasonal kiatiaki roles at Cathedral Cove.

Dates: 6 December 2025 to 7 February 2026

About the role

Working for the Hei O Wharekaho Settlement Trust, based in Whitianga, you will spend your days based at Mautohe / Cathedral Cove. As kaitiaki o Mautohe your responsibilities include:

• Talking with visitors and sharing knowledge about the area.
• Collecting visitor data and information.
• Keeping the site clean and welcoming.
• Maintaining and servicing facilities (including the toilets).     

Key skills & attributes

• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with the public.
• Reliable, active, and able to work on your feet all day.
• A positive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Full driver’s licence is an advantage.

This role is a great opportunity to spend summer in a special place, helping look after our whenua and manuhiri.
