Our vision is to preserve and enhance what has been handed down to us, for the benefit of all Ngāti Hei, and those who come after us. We wish to preserve and share Ngāti Hei’s unique history, to retain the lands and cultural taonga inherited from our tupuna, to hold onto and build up our people’s knowledge of reo Māori and tikanga.
Whakapapa binds us together.
We will uphold our mana whenua and mana moana, by managing our lands, waters and marine resources. As kaitiaki of our whenua and moana, we will protect these taonga for future generations.
Manaakitanga requires us to show care for others – to support our own people, and show hospitality and care for others. We will manage our tribal assets so that Ngāti Hei can be a strong and flourishing people, economically secure, confident in our cultural identity, united, and supportive of each other.
