Background

Ngāti Hei ki Wharekaho has around 500 registered iwi members on its tribal registry. As a small iwi it makes sense to centralise and “share” many of the administrative functions and platforms. IT Platforms are just one example of this.

Ngāti Hei has several governance boards. Some are internally, iwi focused – like the Marae and Urupā governance boards and the Charitable Trust. Others are both internally and externally focused, like the Settlement Trust and subsidiaries (Ngāti Hei Group) that must communicate with the Crown (central and local govt) and Crown Agencies as well as the wider hāpori/community and local stakeholders/businesses.

The IT Platform Administrator is responsible for all technology platforms used by Ngāti Hei Group and by other governance boards. Currently these platforms include: Google Workspace (Not For Profit) for email, groups and cloud storage, CloudFlare for DNS and security, WordPress for website and tribal registry and Atlassian Trello and Confluence for project management and intranet/knowledgebase.
